Attribute-Driven Community Search

چکیده
Recently, community search over graphs has gained significant interest. In applications such as analysis of protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks, citation graphs, and collaboration networks, nodes tend to have attributes. Unfortunately, most previous community search algorithms ignore attributes and result in communities with poor cohesion w.r.t. their node attributes. In this paper, we study the problem of attribute-driven community search, that is, given an undirected graph G where nodes are associated with attributes, and an input queryQ consisting of nodes Vq and attributes Wq , find the communities containing Vq , in which most community members are densely inter-connected and have similar attributes. We formulate this problem as finding attributed truss communities (ATC), i.e., finding connected and close k-truss subgraphs containing Vq , with the largest attribute relevance score. We design a framework of desirable properties that good score function should satisfy. We show that the problem is NP-hard. However, we develop an efficient greedy algorithmic framework to iteratively remove nodes with the least popular attributes, and shrink the graph into an ATC. In addition, we also build an elegant index to maintain k-truss structure and attribute information, and propose efficient query processing algorithms. Extensive experiments on large real-world networks with ground-truth communities show that our algorithms significantly outperform the state of the art and demonstrates their efficiency and effectiveness.

Event-driven and Attribute-driven Robustness
Over five decades have passed since the first wave of robust optimization studies conducted by Soyster and Falk. It is outstanding that real-life applications of robust optimization are still swept aside; there is much more potential for investigating the exact nature of uncertainties to obtain intelligent robust models. For this purpose, in this study, we investigate a more refined description...

متن کاملAttributed Community Analysis: Global and Ego-centric Views
The proliferation of rich information available for real world entities and their relationships gives rise to a type of graph, namely attributed graph, where graph vertices are associated with a number of attributes. The set of an attribute can be formed by a series of keywords. In attributed graphs, it is practically useful to discover communities of densely connected components with homogeneo...
متن کاملImplementation of Intention-driven Search Processes by SPARQL Queries
Capitalisation of search processes becomes a real challenge in many domains. By search process, we mean a sequence of queries that enables a community member to find comprehensive and accurate information by composing results from different information sources. In this paper we propose a intentional model based on semantic Web technologies and models and aiming both at the capitalization, reuse...
متن کاملInteractive Image Search with Attribute-based Guidance and Personalization
Interactive image search, where a user initiates a query with keywords and refines it via feedback, can be enhanced using attributes. To minimize the user’s effort, we propose to let the system guide a user’s attribute-based comparative feedback with “pivot” exemplars that most reduce the system’s uncertainty. Since humans vary in how they perceive the link between a named property and image co...
